Keep the Love Going: February Eye Care Tips

Valentine's Day is Over, But Eye Care Isn't!

February may be the month of love, but at University Children's Eye Center, we're focused on another kind of love: the love of clear vision for every child. Each month, we want to remind you of the critical importance of promoting your child's eyesight. Good vision is a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Crossed Eyes in Children:

Will They Grow Out of It?

Many parents worry about their child's eye alignment. While some children's crossed eyes may appear to straighten naturally, this is rarely the case. More likely, the child’s eyes were never actually crossed in the first place, but simply appeared to be such.

Crossed eyes (strabismus) that persist beyond infancy often require professional attention. Early intervention is crucial for the proper development of vision. If your pediatrician suggests that your child will simply outgrow crossed eyes, that’s rarely true, and your child should be seen by an ophthalmologist. Early intervention can be critical in preventing long-term vision problems. Contact us today to schedule a comprehensive eye exam to check for strabismus and related issues.
